Teaching
My goal as a teacher is to train good citizens. A person's increased understanding of the world around him or herself will only ever contribute to that person's betterment as a human being. The best way towards that understanding is through respectful discourse. As we examine how and why we disagree with someone we become better able to find the common ground. Education is the moderation of this basic tenant and its significance grows through effective teaching methods.

Democracy Prep, Endurance
New York, NY
Developed a multilevel theatrical program of study. Outside of the classroom, I produced and directed community productions in which students from all over Harlem were invited to participate. I also engaged outside of the school for more student opportunities, inviting professional guest artists to teach workshops, organizing student trips to see Broadway productions and partnering with Disney Theatrical Group to workshop a new pilot play for young artists.
Mayde Creek High School
Houston, TX
Here I design and facilitate all technical components of theatre productions while mentoring student designers and technicians, teaching best practices and encouraging a sense of ownership among young artists. I also develop and teach state accredited curriculum in stagecraft and design. I work closely with the director to plan production seasons that offer appropriate creative challenges and opportunities for student artists and co-teach “Theatre Production,” an advanced practical course in which students take a production from concept to performance as a self-contained theatre company.
